Designer III – CAD Drafting

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Designer III to join our Engineering team. This role focuses on developing detailed 3D CAD models, 2D fabrication drawings, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for oil and gas surface production equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong technical drafting skills, hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Plant P&ID, and a solid understanding of equipment fabrication and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complex 3D models and detailed 2D fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, separators, heater treaters, piping assemblies, pipe racks, and equipment skids.

• Create and update P&IDs, including equipment tags, instrumentation, and piping details.

• Ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain CAD documentation.

• Collaborate with engineers, fabrication teams, and project stakeholders to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.

• Support cost-effective design improvements and fabrication efficiency.

• Utilize COMPRESS software for pressure vessel design calculations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of AutoCAD 3D experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and Plant P&ID is required.

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience designing oil and gas surface production equipment preferred.

• Strong attention to detail, technical problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
